Our Story
Miles Street Medical was founded by Dr. Mark Edwards — a Mount Isa resident of over five years who has worked and trained in general practice while serving the community he is proud to call home.
After years of dedicated service, Dr. Edwards wanted to expand his role in the community and continue to serve on his own terms — creating a practice that reflects his values of accessibility, modern technology, and genuine care.
The clinic is open, spacious, brightly lit, and conveniently located with parking and easy town centre access — designed to make every visit as comfortable and efficient as possible.

Biography
Dr. Mark Edwards brings a remarkable breadth of experience to his role as a GP. A former military helicopter pilot and electrical engineer, he transitioned to medicine and has built a career that spans general practice, emergency medicine, occupational health, and aviation medicine.
Having lived and worked in Mount Isa for over five years, Dr. Edwards has a deep understanding of the unique health challenges faced by workers and families in remote and regional Queensland. He is passionate about making healthcare accessible, modern, and genuinely supportive.
Dr. Edwards is particularly passionate about preventive care, men's health, and supporting the aviation and local industries and worker — areas where his unique background gives him exceptional insight and expertise.
