Appointments & Booking
How do I book an appointment?
You can book online through our Automed patient portal, or contact us by email at [email protected]. Online booking is available 24/7 for your convenience.
Do you offer same-day appointments?
Yes. We offer same-day appointments subject to availability. We recommend booking early in the day to secure a same-day slot.
Can I book a telehealth appointment?
Yes. Telehealth consultations are available via phone or video call. This is particularly useful for patients in remote areas of Far NW Queensland. Please indicate when booking that you require a telehealth appointment.
What are your opening hours?
Monday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Tuesday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (GP appointments). Occasional weekend appointments may be available — pre-booking is required. Hours are subject to change.
Can I cancel or reschedule my appointment?
Yes. You can cancel or reschedule through the Automed patient portal or by emailing [email protected]. Please give as much notice as possible so we can offer the slot to another patient.
Billing & Payments
Do you accept Medicare?
Yes. Miles Street Medical is a Medicare provider. Eligible patients can claim Medicare rebates for consultations and many other services.
Do you accept self-pay patients?
Yes. We welcome self-pay patients. Please contact us for information about consultation fees.
How does billing work for employment health assessments?
Employment health assessments are typically billed to the employer or the referring organisation. Please contact us to discuss billing arrangements for your organisation.
Are there any out-of-pocket costs?
Out-of-pocket costs depend on the type of consultation and your Medicare eligibility. Some services — such as employment health assessments, aviation medicals, and commercial driver medicals — are not covered by Medicare and are billed directly. Please contact us for specific fee information.
